We are a low-volume appointment only salon, which means we never overcrowd our schedule or rush through appointments. Each groomer works with only a few pets per day, giving us the time and focus to provide the highest level of care. This calm environment helps reduce stress and ensures every pet receives the individual attention they deserve.

Every service is all-inclusive: teeth brushing, nail clipping/grinding, ear cleaning, paw butter, and coat care are always part of the package, because we believe essentials should never be extras. Whether it’s a puppy’s first spa day, a refreshing bath, or a full topknot transformation, our services are designed to keep pets happy, healthy, and comfortable.

As pet lovers ourselves, we know how important it is to trust the people caring for your furry family members. That’s why we take the time to build a bond with each pet, working at their pace and making grooming a positive, stress-free experience.

Credentials & Experience

In an industry that’s largely unregulated, I believe pet parents deserve the reassurance of knowing their groomer is truly qualified, educated, and committed to the highest standards of care. That’s why I chose to go above and beyond what’s required.

I am CPR and First Aid Certified, an AKC S.A.F.E. Certified Groomer, Fear Free Certified and hold my Professional Grooming Credential through the American Kennel Club. These certifications reflect my dedication to safety, gentle handling, and continuing education because your dog deserves nothing less.

I’ve expanded my skills through private lessons with highly skilled groomers and by participating in the world of competitive grooming. I’ve competed at Groom Expo West in Pasadena for multiple years earning Best First Timer in Poodles and returning the following year in the Bedlington Terrier class to continue refining my technique and artistry. Competing pushes me to elevate my work, stay current, and always challenge myself creatively.

Meet Alisa

THE HEART AND FOUNDER OF TOPKNOT PET SALON & SPA

I was born with a love for animals with my first dream being to become a veterinarian. After completing veterinary internships, I realized that path wasn’t the right fit for me. The moment I turned 16, I began volunteering at the local animal shelter, where my passion for animal care only grew stronger.

It wasn’t until I worked at a dog daycare and saw a groomer in action that I truly found my calling. From that moment on, I knew grooming was the perfect career… a way to combine my creativity, patience, and love for animals into something that makes pets (and their people) feel happy and cared for.

Outside of the salon, I embrace all things pink, fun, and cutesy. I love collecting trinkets and figures, going to the movies, and enjoying life with my friends and family. My goal is to bring that same joy and passion into my work, making every pup’s grooming experience not just a necessity, but a luxury treat.

2016

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

After graduating high school, I found myself drawn to the local animal shelter, volunteering my time and forming deep connections with dogs who needed patience, love, and understanding. That’s where my heart for this work was born.

2019

DISCOVERING MY CALLING

When that groomer moved to a new salon, I followed. That decision changed my life. I fell in love with grooming not just the skill, but the care, artistry, and bond it creates. I committed myself fully to learning the craft.

2017-2019

FINDING MY CONFIDENCE

I began working at a dog daycare, learning canine behavior hands-on and building trust with dogs of all temperaments. During this time, I became fascinated watching the groomer at the daycare seeing how grooming could completely change how a dog felt and carried itself.

2020-2022

LEARNING, GROWING, REFINING

I continued to grow through mentorship, advanced lessons, and constant practice, learning from some of the best groomers in the industry and never stopping my pursuit of improvement.

TAKING A LEAP

I stepped far outside my comfort zone and competed in my first grooming competition, challenging myself to grow both personally and professionally.

I continued competing and invested in every educational opportunity I could find, driven by the belief that dogs deserve the very best.
